kevin Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 rob the essex meet died after only 2 meets,5 turned up 1st time,and 1 the next,so wasnt worth it carrying on. turbosport are at the halfway house on the 1st sunday of each month,and you often get quite afew oldskool fords turn up to this, id love someone to reserect a regular osf essex meet.id go. kev

As has been said Turbosport meet at the Halfway House on a Sunday good access from London area and beyond and with it being on a weekend a day out. The S.E.O.C. essex meet is at the Duke of Wellington in Hatfield Peveral on a Monday night. This pub is just of the A12 again good access Chelmsford/Colchester area's and beyond, being an evening meet may limit people driving to far to make a return journey. Not sayng to highjack these meets but I know both of these pubs have large carparks. I know from experience it can be hard to get a new meet off the ground, especially during the darker nights, but I believe it can be quality not quantity that make a good night Any suggestions?
kevin Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 i certainly think the interest is there for a essex meet,and i know theres plenty of osf in essex,i still go to the turbosport meet on the 1st sunday of each month,and very often classic fords appear for a drive out,its just got to that stage where we need someone enthusiastic enough to take on the position of running it.either with another club meet or on our own. as i say id certainly go,but i wont take on the position again of trying to run/organise it.!!! sorry.

Nettles Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 If you Essex boys and girls don’t mind crossing the river your all more than welcome to come along to the Medway meet in Kent. It’s only about 15-20 minutes from the Dartford crossing and is held on the second Thursday of every month. We meet at the Ship and Trades pub in the Medway area, which has a very large car park so there’s plenty of room for a few Essex OSF’s. If you’re interested the next meet is on Thursday the 12/06/08. Never done this before but seeing as everyone else is holding back ill put my hand up. Where? When? How regular? Halfway House seems to be a good choice, and everyone should know where this? What night? I dont think we should gatecrash any other meets, lets get our own of the ground and take it from there. Depending on the numbers, once a month?
