Why am I still waiting for paint!

Is it me or are good painters getting scarce, Twice now ive been let down by a painter saying " yeah I will come over and have a look no probs " only to be let down. It seems that cause its an old car a lot pf painters cant or wont touch it. Some panels are of the car so I cant drive it to paint shops to get quotes so im stuck locally. If any of you guys know of a good paint shop in hampshire please let us know as im really getting the hump.

I know what you are saying mate. I was trying to drill out a sheared manifold stud today with a dremmel and the manifold was in the way. I tried seperating it from the rest of the exhaust system but it was stuck fast. I put it all back together and drove to my local ATS and asked them to seperate the maniold from the exhaust and got the reply "we only do replacements mate" FFS There was no-one else having work done and it would have taken them 5 mins to put it on the ramps and get some heat into it and they would get a drink out of it. They couldn't be arsed. This attitude really fooks me off. There's no customer service like the olde days lol

i know what you mean.

there just doesnt seem to be the same old skool cameraderie that there was a few years ago. people just cant be bothered anymore.

 

a few years ago they would have bent over backwards trying to help out, with a cuppa in one hand and a fag in the other, and it would still be done in a couple of minutes, for a "drink"

 

sadly most of the young kids in these fast fit centers these days just havent got the old skool knack of repairing it instead of replacing or making something else fit. doing a quick favour has been replaced by wanting to make a huge profit

Used to really p*ss me off
