oliwally Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 or this Surely this is going to take loads of filler work Easy,go down B&Q and grab some mdf and job done. Failing that go to the zoo and get yourself an elephant

Toby Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 Yeah I remember that ad. Have you mastered the haed movement Sambo? I actually like your car as it is colour wise, black bonnet!!
sambo Posted November 27, 2007 Author Report Posted November 27, 2007 Cheers Toby I havent mastered the head movements yet but am working on it!! The car is a little bit rough around the edges and it's now or never with the re-spray really. I'm thinking of that colour of the bentley (sort of metallic BRG) with gold on top. Like the alan mann but with green?? Damn, i REALLY nedd to learn how to use photoshop!!!!

Like the alan mann but with green?? Damn, i REALLY nedd to learn how to use photoshop!!!! Gold and green went through my mind for mine, and green with a silver roof and wheels (and posibly side stripe/ flash on mine), but I think white really suits the bubbles!! Black bonnet for the racey look! Quite like the two strips over the roof look too. Maybe not too wide and off centre, Period colours. There is a pale blue MK1 cortina about with kind of Gulf colour over the roof jobies that looks subtly racey. Ooo decisions decisions!!
sambo Posted November 27, 2007 Author Report Posted November 27, 2007 Pics, Toby, pics!! I know what you mean, i do love the colour at the moment and i even like the way its a little battered etc but, its now or never for the re-spray and it does need it. I couldnt imagine just re-painting it the same colours. Besides, i have hankered after an Alan Mann esque colour scheme for long enough!! Hmmmm, BRG and gold, ........... or maybe silver................... Hmmmm
Toby Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 I think, and I know it's not what you mean, but, there was PICTURE of a white one on the cover of CF years ago at night, I thought it looked beautifull. Black bonnet, really nice paint!! I nearly did mine Alan Mann Colours too, I do quite like the sleeper aspect though, so no regrets. Hard to be a sleeper with FOOK OFF big Arches, so I recon you'd get away with any scheme, racier the better - and I dont mean silk and lace!
sambo Posted November 27, 2007 Author Report Posted November 27, 2007 The car IS gonna be a racer, and isnt built for the road at all! I may even not mot it and insure it for the road as the suspension knocks the poo outta me!! I just want a REALLY hard looking escort but cant decide on what the best colours are. Tried and tested Alan Mann, or something similar but different???
sambo Posted November 27, 2007 Author Report Posted November 27, 2007 Oh, and no shite, no regrets with yours Toby!! That is, for me, the pinnacle of Old skool fords. Just an amazing car. the paint-job, the engine and the interir even is just gorgeous!!!!

Thanks mate That's the beauty of building your car you can have pretty much exactly what / how you want it, and you're more than half way there!! Looking forward to seeing the result

oliwally Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 somthing different with satin black bonnet
Toby Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 This is my favourite from Escortavo's recommended web page. Not sure I like the side stripes that stop at the arches, IMHO it makes the arches look a bit "stuck on - after thought" but appreciate it's all personal taste. Obviously Oliwally has ideas that shouldn't be over looked too!
surfingturnip Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 black or gunmetal grey with a wide dark neon blue band going along the car from the door handles down to the top edge of the sill with black or grey sills?
