RFChris Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 Would a MKV XR3 engine fit in an XR2? More specifically would it fit in my soon to be Prefect. I've been offered one stupidly (£25) cheap. Body is gone but the engine is solid...it;s the 130hp too! Whaddya reckon? Chris
mk1mexico Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 Well they put zetecs in FWD fiestas often enough so it should go. Remember anything can be made to fit anything else, its just how much work your prepared to do. Go for it mate you'll never see another
capriclive Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 the mkv xr3i has got the zetec lump in it. a lot of people fit them in rwd cars, so there is no reason why they wont fit. you will need however, modified sump, engine mounts, modified water rail, wiring, ecu, special exhaust manifold, new bellhousing etc. in other words, can be done but a lot of work / money needed.
