Muttley MK2 Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 You can replace your oil pump without taking the lump out, you will have to remove the cam belt and all ancilleries, also the sump, its a tedious job but can be done. The pump is not cheap and also you shoul replace the cam belt!

The pump is not cheap and also you shoul replace the cam belt! ive done the 8 valve ones before and i know they are the same as the xe, which aint too difficult, but someones told me that the ecotec crap ones are at the back of the engine?? sorry i know this aint an old skool ford question, but i could do with all the help i can get
Muttley MK2 Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 No mate, the ecotec oil pump is on the front of the crank behind the cam belt. Drop the sump and take off the cambelt and pulleys
