warrenk Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Hi guys At last my account has been activated , thanks moderators and to Jim I'm from Port Elizabeth , South Africa, l've always loves the old skool fords but unfortunately the cars are scarce and the parts are not available. In 1979 my dad bought a Escort 1600 Sport off the showroom floor with a factory fitted sunroof and a 13" 6j Momo mag. My love for these cars started by this one . I currently hav a Ae111 Corolla as my everyday car, another AE82 Corolla parking at home and then my baby, a 1981 Mk2 1.6GL Escort. the Escort is completely stripped, awaiting to be rapainted and so on. starting to rust now. Seeing as the parts are so difficult to come by and the engine parts being extremely expensive I'm thinking of building and fitting a 7AGE Toyota engine to put in the Escort. I know its not ideal but the car is gunna be caged out and only used as a toy. I hope to learn alot on this forum, maybe even do some business All the best for 2008

jimihendrix Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Welcome mate, , the Toyota motor transplant sounds cool
warrenk Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 Welcome mate, , the Toyota motor transplant sounds cool I would have liked to modify the kent motor but with parts being so expensive its not worth it. and with the Rand being so weak agains the Pound makes matters even worse(I think a 1 of your brittish pounds is equivalent to 13zar ) A worked kent motor would work out in the region of R25000
