Joe Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 Im trying to find somebody who has or does covered car transportation. I need to collect a painted rolling bodyshell from Scotland and return to Lancashire in the next few weeks. Does anybody know or can suggest somebody that might be able to help? CheeRS, Joe.
lee_capri Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 i do no you can hire a trailer that has a fibaglass body on it like a garage or put a add on ebay some-one is bound to contact you,but it would be cheaper to collect yourself mate
Durham Fiesta Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 theres a few ads on ebay offering covered transportation. could you not get away with a normal trailer???
lee_capri Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 ive seen the add's my self but you are talking with most a £1 amile
mossy Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 you could always just rent or borrow a normal trailer, then put a cover over it for the journey.
Durham Fiesta Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 a cover would prob rub the paint as it flaps about. surely if its all apinted it wouldn't matter if it got rained on on the way?

Rain should be fine as its only a light mist....its only washing it your not meant to do.
Joe Posted January 6, 2008 Author Report Posted January 6, 2008 Restored and painted shell at great expense. The weather can be very nasty at this time of year. A cover on fresh paintwork wouldn't be a good idea. Also there is a risk of road debris flying up like it did when I took the shell up in the summer. I know its going to cost but covered is what Im after. Really need somebody based in Scotland or the North West of England to reduce the total distance. I.e a guy in London would be too far away and expensive. Appreciate the suggestions. Thanks, Joe.
Pipster007 Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 There is a chap on here who transported Doc's Capri from Scotland to Weston Super Mare. I'm sure he was up in the Midlands/Lancs region. I can't remember his username though. Not sure either if it is a covered transporter Pm Doc to find out
