slimrs Posted January 17, 2008 Author Report Posted January 17, 2008 thats my old motor - got some info on it so pm me. damage was limited to just the wing! small world, really pleased with car mate, i know its had a new wing but seems solid. im just starting to xpack it have you got any pics of yours
capriv8 Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 did you get the folder of pics that came with it. Although i never got the letter in the end one of the first owners it thought to be a movie star! It did have a new wing after argueing with a tractor but to be honnest it needed one anyway (refubed headlamp bowl too). The engine was sweet as a nut when i had it but it spent 8 months laid up before i moved it on) I sill have loads of spares for it inc a new vinyl roof somewhere! please email me your address so I can send the pics of the damage etc
X-pack-Glyn Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Its one of those capris you tend to avoid i think....its been "Sam,ed".... ha ha ha.....bent chassis anyone?
slimrs Posted January 19, 2008 Author Report Posted January 19, 2008 Its one of those capris you tend to avoid i think....its been "Sam,ed".... ha ha ha.....bent chassis anyone? didnt your mum ever tell you that "if you cant think of anything nice to say just dont say anything"
capriv8 Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 least mine has brakes! who prides themselves on being the best Capri mechanic yet actually managed to run his pads so far down that they fell out on the way to santa pod! oh and did that mean you couln't run deary me what is the world coming to! (glyns a mate and yes i did twat 2 Capri's in 8 months!) Although the tractor incident wasn't my fault - he just kept going and took part of my car with him!
slimrs Posted January 21, 2008 Author Report Posted January 21, 2008 when you gonna send some pics of yours mate, im x packing mine and need some inspiration as am getting bored of fillering already
X-pack-Glyn Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 I took a good look at that shell last year and its bloody good underneath, rear rails mint
X-pack-Glyn Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 And as for fitting the mk2 x pack its quite easy untill you get to the fuel filler panel area....all i can say with that is good luck...on the genuine cars the flap hinged upwards, i found this out after i spent ages trying to figgure it out.
