LUKE261 Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 brilliant mate, every1 has a tale or 2 about a hot rod. i can remember steve skitmore racing his national didnt see that at wimbledon, but watched nationals at ipswich for years, went 2 matchams a few times, and colin white always used, 2 be the man there.
w p e Posted November 21, 2006 Author Report Posted November 21, 2006 remember it well. the green starlet that is as me and mick built all the cars ourselfs and i built all the engines. andy hit the 6th post from the pit bend rather hard that nite and his little brother won his races on the same nite in a mk2 escort what a nite
Onyx Dave Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 I remember Mick we had good battles with him at Ringwood, Phil likes a good battle!

w p e Posted November 23, 2006 Author Report Posted November 23, 2006 yep he as. some drift car club his taking it over not good for hotrod fans. shame as we won a lot of races there. won southern open. points championship plus others. i hope someone offers the track to hotrodders for the odd meeting.
Onyx Dave Posted November 24, 2006 Report Posted November 24, 2006 Get Mick to come to Arena Essex, we are doing a full season of Outlaw Hotrods in 2007, got a new car aswell
LUKE261 Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 thats not good then, drift racing wot a load of that is!!! drifting on roundabouts is ok, but that drift racing is proper pants, the most boring form of motorsport ever!! bring back the hot rods, remember the old hodge rods at matchams, all mk1 and 2 escorts lol 1300's!!
w p e Posted November 25, 2006 Author Report Posted November 25, 2006 will probley do a few meets at arena and see some of the chaps. aint been for a while. need to get the engine on the rollers before hand and make sure its ok coz i aint got time to rebuild at the mo coz kids and motorcross take up all my time

Onyx Dave Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 You may remember my cars, Tawny Mex, Black Mex with green decals, Xpack RS2 in black, Yellow mk2 Mex, also had a Red RST Fiesta and a Moonstone Saph. Then I got a mortgage again.
w p e Posted November 27, 2006 Author Report Posted November 27, 2006 i do remember now its been a while since ive been around cars & meets
Onyx Dave Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Me too m8, been doing alot of oval aswell which keeps me busy, been helping Phil Young for years now, we had a break and built the yellow 16v Mex rep for track days but they got expensive and pit crewed for Dave Longhurst on the National and 2 Litre until he switched to Silhouettes, so we got back in to oval again, did UK modifieds (super stox) for 2 seasons which he was champ last year then switched to Thunder cars this year, did half a year and switched to Outlaws which we will do next year, even though we only did half a year in Thunders he still came 3rd, with others doing a complete year!
w p e Posted November 27, 2006 Author Report Posted November 27, 2006 sounds good. last time we done a season was with perry clack we won points & open championship starting halfway through the season after i done him a new engine. that put some noses out of joint at arena i can tell you then we went nationals again done the worlds came 12th due to a spin out then sold the 205 shp car & left hotrods. it got to much doing micks car & perrys & doing all the meets the missis wernt impressed i was never home so now its me & me 2 girls & motorcross racing.
