ZetecVan 2.0 Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 ...and it was a very dangerous thing to do... Me and Jubfab were going up the A1 at 6.30pm on the way to see that music God Morrissey in Sunderland. This Pug405 went past in the outside lane, being tailgated by this Golf. We were doing 70. They must have been doing about 85-90. When suddenly the Pug slammed on his brakes and brought the golf to a halt. We went past but there were some cars behind us. We thought there was going to be a pile up. Then a few minutes later, the Pug drives past... A minute or so later (and after a few cars have passed) the Golf drives past. The driver going at a suitable speed, and keeping his distance from the Pug.
blower Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 good on him , dangerous maybe , but i fooking hate tailgaters
Copey Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 what i normally do with tailgaiters is flick the rear fogs on and watch them slam on
Mrs O/H/C Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 THEY OBVIOUSLY THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE THE ONLY ONES ON THAT ROAD AND NOT PUT ANY THOUGHT INTO THE FACT THAT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF A BIG ACCIDENT !!
pauln Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Responding to somebodys dangerous driving by doing something equally dangerous is not going to make for a long and happy life. First rule, if you are sharing the road with a tinker lol don't get involved.
lee_capri Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 good on him , dangerous maybe , but i fooking hate tailgaters i do it all the time nothing worse then some one hogging the fast lane or sitting in the middle lane at 60mph, the thing is some driver's think because their car is better then your's they can just sit their, if i was in the golf i would have undertook him has that is the onl way some time's

If that had happened, he would have hit us.
Mr Sam Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 had something along these lines a few weeks back, 2 lanes and an astra in the fast lane, i flash him and he dont pull over so i indicate to undertake and put my foot down so the twat puts his down.......luckily im in some dirty great turbocharged derv and have more torques but then a few miles later hes right up my arse........of course i pull in when i can so he then sits in the fast lane again at a relaxed pace...........luckily was my junction to pull off but apparently undertaking is legal if your going faster than them still slamming your brakes on is quite stupid, lightly pushing the brake (just to get the lights to come on) and nailing the throttle works best
Wessie Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 but apparently undertaking is legal if your going faster than them well you cant undertake them if your going slower then them !
Von Loxlee Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 isnt it that ur allowed to undertake if ur in the lane and the faster lane slows down and u pass them, so moving into a slower lane to undertake is still therefore illegal?
lee_capri Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 pulling on to a onslip from the fast lane does that count has illegal undertakeing from the fast lane if both lane's are blocked and im in hurry , i drive up and down a lot u see lot's of tailgateing and a lot of undertakeing,a lot of people for get the high way code when they get in the car and just sit their,i undertake load's of people in the 2or3 lane were they are sat at 60or79mph and they wounder y u come under them at 80mph,i dont alway's change lane's if their is no need, some time's see them in the mirrow all of sudden move over once you gone past them, tailgate lane hogger's all the time if they are in my way but im in a big van and can see a lot more of the road then them
Adam Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 but apparently undertaking is legal if your going faster than them Ive got a dual carrigeway near mine thats a 40mph,loads of people do 30mph in the fast lane and sit there..I aint gona hang around waitng for them to move into the slow lane...
mk1rob Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 If someone tailgates me on a dual carriageway i just pull over and let them past. P*sses me off no end but its not worth risking an accident in my opinion. Having said that, if someone tailgates me on a normal road, i slow right down to a crawl. lol
Deano1351 Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 If someone is tailgating me i just wave the ak47 out of the window and reel a few shots off into the sky!!! They soon back off!!

Could have been a totally differnt story tho Hope the gig was good.
