I'm thinking about putting a nissan ca18et engine and box in either the mk1 caprii or mk2 escort estate. Has anybody put this engine in a old ford before and if so any info on the conversion would be very gratefully received.

Best to buy a complete and working 200sx and use all the bits you can from it rather than just buying an engine . I would use the engine , gearbox , wiring loom and ecu etc from the 200sx and even chop and weld the tunnel from it into the Ford

I've got a full car, i was using it up to a month ago, its stage 2, about 220bhp at the mo. Would it be easy enough to splice the 2 looms together, also the sump bulge is at the front on the nissan engine, will need to see if it can be turned round.

I really want to do this conversion as its easy to get about 350-360bhp out of it before you have to touch the internals, lot cheaper and more reliable than a cossie. I just would'nt be able to afford to do it with a cossie. Thanks for the info so far, please keep it coming as i need all the help i can get.

gearbox will fit without cutting tunnel.best to use the complete wiring loom from the nissan and cut out all the bits you dont need. will be a cheap job to do, get everything you need off the car and sell the rest on ebay(irish ebay especially, plenty people need small parts from those cars.not sure bout turning the sump around,i put complete nissan crossmember in with steering rack at the back hopefully with losts of carefull measuring i can adapt the skyline steering rack with power steering. good luck with it
