Mk 1 Mark Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 circuit racing...nothing better than seeing a few mk1`s having it on the the track dicing in and out ...sidways ...Nothing better to watch!!
bobmk1 Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 circuit .....but i do love seeing them in the forest
QuadCamCapri Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 I'm surprised, I assumed most of you Escort owners would be rally biased as thats were the majority of it's motorsport history lies. Circuit racing - and my favorites would have to be the Zakspeed Escorts.
Muzz Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 Gotta be Rallying, just got back from the Tempest and the MK2's sounded the nuts!!
diffed Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Rallying all the way No room for mistakes
rs1600tc Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 has to be track but wot about a tarmac spec rally car they are basically a track car but with mudflaps and a co-pilot
Johnson Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 circuit cars look low and loud. but there is something about standing in a freezing cold woods watching a forest arched mk2 scream past at full chat. an it take balls of steel to skim your prid and joy past trees and ditches. anyone who losses it on a track just needs to brush the gravel off. all though i do like a good bumper to bumper race. im undesided. good question mate.
wookie Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 rallying every time, nothing wrong with circuits but nothing beats the sight of a gp4 escort slightly sideways with a front wheel in the air. mines certainly staying on the stages!
Guest Andy Harriss Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 rallyin all day long, any 1 can drive on a nice wide smooth race track, takes somthing else (most rally drivers are missin somthing up there) to drive at high speed down a narrow forest road and gp4 mk2 sounds so much nicer than zakspeed mk2 Oh yes! The rest of ya that chose circuits should be ashamed of yourselves! Andy
Guest zeolite Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Kiss my Atlas! [/img] From last weeks' Kingdom Stages Rallying all the way!
Morley Posted November 10, 2005 Author Report Posted November 10, 2005 Personally, id much rather see overtaking... Alright seeing an escort dancing its way through a stage is a site to behold... Its much nicer seeing ten of the bastards fighting for position!!! And escorts on stilts and nobbly tyres look PANTS!!
RETRO_AL Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Personally, id much rather see overtaking... Alright seeing an escort dancing its way through a stage is a site to behold... Its much nicer seeing ten of the bastards fighting for position!!! And escorts on stilts and nobbly tyres look PANTS!! one of the reasons i never realy liked mk1s the bubbled ones were always high and with skinny tyres wasent tilll i saw a tarmac spec one and thougt mmmmmmm
RS_Dan Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 all very nice, love the last one Mk2Jo. that'll be 2 -1 to rallying then
Stripper Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 hhmm!tough question for the looks of a modified1 its gotta be curcuit but then u cant beat watchin tail happy nutters clippin the verges!!will ave to go with history and say rallying!!!!
Admin Mk2Jo Posted November 11, 2005 Admin Report Posted November 11, 2005 Nice pics Al - that blue RS2000 looks scarily like a Golf And Mr McCrae
RS_Dan Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 the way I see it, rally cars always look like they're going fast, like they're actually working for their living. The black stuff boys always look like they're out for a sunday cruise in a picture!! (that's my opinion anyway)
Morley Posted November 11, 2005 Author Report Posted November 11, 2005 But the blackstuff boys have got to overtake... Whilst still driving fast and smooth! The only time a rally car has to overtake is if someones wrapped a car round a tree!
