mrmoo Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 just picked up a pair of revolution 15" 9j 5 spokes for the pushing end of the capri need some road tyres at the moment that will be ok for some occasional drag strip use at the moment the v6should be around 200bhp with gas
mrmoo Posted February 7, 2008 Author Report Posted February 7, 2008 no one else running 15x9j wheels? any help appriciated, having problems finding any tyres to fit apart from drag slicks at the moment someone must sell them somewhere!
BudgieV8 Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Probably best to look at American tyre suppliers M8 as thats a tad wide (& an unusual size) for UK tyres. I had to get a set of BFGoodrich for my Dodge Charger a while back & got them from a member on the Mopar Muscle Club website. Also take a look on American e-bay (go to the UK homepage, scroll to the bottom, & click USA).
mrmoo Posted February 7, 2008 Author Report Posted February 7, 2008 cheers budgie just know i can get drag radials in this country for £150 each was hoping to get a cheaper option to get me going for a while just wanna get these wheels on the car, they look awesome lol
bomber1 Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 i dont know if u know this firm local to me but they do a lot off american wheels/tyres. we got a set of spokes and white walls for our zodiac from them http://www.northhantstyres.com/index.html
BudgieV8 Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 Mmm, me likey those wheels Dude! Very cool & a good colour as well
mrmoo Posted February 8, 2008 Author Report Posted February 8, 2008 jason your a total diamond! ill give them a call, thanks tyres now found cheers budgie, but the wheels are goin to be black blue on a red car
mrmoo Posted February 9, 2008 Author Report Posted February 9, 2008 cheers jason, just ordered a pair of 265/50/15s
DarrenM Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 cheers jason, just ordered a pair of 265/50/15s Sorry but I have only just seen this thread. Are these for your MK1? If so are you putting arches on then? They are much taller than standard and will affect your gearing as well.
mrmoo Posted February 9, 2008 Author Report Posted February 9, 2008 these are for my mk1 darren its being built as a road/drag strip monster just been given a freebee salisbury axle off a mate from the WON forum it costs atleast £400 for a 2nd hand lsd for the atlas, but only £230 for a brand new diff locker for a salisbury the salisbury also has a cwp of 3.9:1 as standard, so it more than covers the extra rolling radius its also narrower than the atlas so hopefully the tyres will sit within the stock archs its gonna need the inner archs cutting and moving, but im hoping to keep that to a minimum by jacking the ass up lol proper muscle car stance
mrmoo Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 10"inch wide tyres anyone???? placed them next to the existing wheels on the car yesterday and believe it or not they fit!!!!!!!! atleast 1inch over clearance to the arch the whole way round due to longer homemade droplinks that should increase once fitted cuz the existing tyres are much smaller ill try and get some pics on later fitted to the car
