white_van_man Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 hi all i have some capri struts on my 100e with standed spring and they are to high , so i have got some capri -2 inch springs , now my problem is the springs are to short for the strut by about half an inch , i have been told to wire them up so i have done this and they look crap , has any one got a better idear of how two sort this problem out thanks white_van_man
capriclive Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 what about a few spot welds on the inside of the springs to cup. not too many incase you need to remove them.
Twinkle Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 i was only thinking about this earlier and was wondering if you could use spring dslocation cones that we used to use on the range rovers to help the spring guide itself back into the cup after they pop out on the rough stuff
white_van_man Posted February 9, 2008 Author Report Posted February 9, 2008 thanks for the info , i asked old ford and there said they just drill small holes in the spring cups and wire them up with trying wire so that what i have done hope the mot mans in a good mood when i take it thanks again white_van_man
