72mk1escort Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Picked these up on Friday they were a bargain at £22 another ebay bargain they need a bit of a clean up and the centers need repainting etc but nothing that i cant have a crack at Heres some pics: They still have the original goodyear grand prix tyres on them The tyre size is 185/70/R13 i trial fitted them they are fine of the front but a bit close to the lip of the arch on the back i rang speed shack and they said i should put 185/60/R13 tyres on them and that will cure the problem does this sound right? Also has anyone ever refurbed these sort of wheels them self before if so any tips would be greatly appreciated as i cant afford to get them refurbed professional Thanks And Hope You Liked Them

72mk1escort Posted February 18, 2008 Author Report Posted February 18, 2008 Ive wire wooled all of the old paint on one of the wheels and smooth black hamerited as said but I've managed to get a few small bit of hamerite onto the silver part of the wheel which has now dried. Has anyone got any tips to get it off without damaging the wheels.I was thinking of going lightly with some wire wool but i am not to sure really Any ideas would be extremely appreciated Cheers
72mk1escort Posted February 18, 2008 Author Report Posted February 18, 2008 Small update on the wheels i have finished refurbishing one wheel which took 2 and a half hours All thats left to do with that one is polish the metal bits with metal polish to make it nice and shiny heres some pictures: This is how they will all look in the end Im going to the tyre shop on thursday to get the old tyre's removed so i can clean up the inside part of the rims where the tyre's go. Then when they are all fully refurbished im going back to get my new 185/60/R13's put on Hope you liked the pics
