MadMark2 Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Your views on this will be much appreciated........... A mate of mine has a pair of 44 idf carbs (down draughts) on a fiat engine but he's sure they came off a rs2k. Havent been used for a year but have fuel in them are clean and are not corroded ! Point is, he's offered me them for £150 for the pair ! Is that as good as i think it is ? I have a pair of dellorto 40 dcoe's i was gonna use but might have the idfs if there better ? p.s. will (eventually) be going on a 2.0 pinto with a decent cam.
mk2 matt Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 yes it is as good as you think. you can by a manifold from burtons for about £230 and speedy cables will make throttle cable for £35. Now for the bad news you cannot get the balance bar the bit that goes between the carbs and the throttle cable so you will have to make one not the easiest of things to do lastly you will have to make a bracket for the throttle cable but thats not too bad

RS Forever Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 had a set on my Mk1 RS2000, really good carbs but go out of tune on a regular basis. If they are off a fiat then probably the jetting will ned to be changed, you will have to fit K & N filters if there is not an original airbox.
Admin Vista Posted September 10, 2006 Admin Report Posted September 10, 2006 I'd say £150 is a steal and get them quick before someone else does, Look what this pair went for: - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1
