ZetecVan 2.0 Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 A few months later driving slightly to fast down our local high street at about 2am when a police car comes the other way,i check the mirror to see they immediateley turn round & give chase so as i round the corner i dived into a side road, lights off, duck down & hope for the best. Luckily they shot past & didnt see me. I did that one saturday night when I was driving my girlfriend (now wife) home. I'd only just started going out with her and didn't know where she lived. It was 2am and we were driving through the village (at normal speeds) when a police car went past and turned round. I turned left at the roundabout and then first left. She said 'No you should have turned right there'. I parked up and said 'duck'. We waited a minute before turning round and going back. Just as I was pulling onto the main road, the police car was driving back. I didn't see him turn round that time. I was totally legal, I just couldn't be bothered with a producer. One time when we were 18, my mate had a tatty two door mk1 escort. We'd been to York for the day, and were driving back when a police car drove past and turned round. The lights came on we pulled over, and within seconds two other police cars came screaming up. They asked us to get out and asked Andy to open his boot. So he did. Then they asked to look inside the car, so he let them. They didn't say what they were looking for, and he was told he got pulled because he'd been seen driving slowly around the car park. Well, yes we had to do that because it was a small busy car park. Then they let us go without doing any further checks because they'd obviously got the wrong car!
Mr.Sumo Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Another time , in my mis-spent youth i had a RD350LC bike....was riding down Imberhorne Lane in East Grinstead and got pulled....doing under the 30mph speed limit behind a row of cars I asked said copper " why you pull me ? " , his reply ..." cos its quicker than pulling a car " ...cheeky fookin git In 1994 i got stopped on the M25 at 3am for alledgedly doing 117.9 mph...........now we all know over 100 mph is an instant 6 month ban......so i am thinking " oh feck ! job gone the lot ! " , anyway , the plod made 3 simple mistakes 1 : The driver got out before me , he supposed to stay in the car in case i did a runner.... 2 : No hat or HiViz uniform on..... And the best for last..... 3 : He threatened me with arrest for " failing to supply information as to my identity "..... When it went to court , i got 10 day holiday , NO points and a £150 fine Judge gave the copper a mega bollocking and i got my brief a very large drink
sambo Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 One time i decided to give it some big throttle round a right hander with traffic on the other side of the road. As I gave it loads the car shot sideways and just as i looked up after i corrected it, there was a cop car sitting in the traffic . He wound his window down and said "you alright mate?" , i just looked at him said "er yup" and took off sharpish down the road!. He could of done me or called his friends to have a look at me cos in the same road is the police station.
