gazcos Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 I,ve just bought a Cat D write off and fixed it. Now i,d like to tax it but i didn,t get a V5 from the salvage yard. If i send off to the DVLA for a new V5 their website says it could take up to 6 weeks . Is there any other way of sorting this a bit quicker. I just want to use it now LOL
kev16v Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 go to ur nearest dvla office with ur mot/insurance fill in the v62 an they will tax it on the spot an might not charge u for the new logbook
Jubfab Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Did you not get the tear off bit of the log book ? if you did then just take that, otherwise do as Kev16v says It dosn't matter that it's a CAT D - only CAT C's have the log book surrendered till you get a VIC check done ...
radar tech Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 go to ur nearest dvla office with ur mot/insurance fill in the v62 an they will tax it on the spot an might not charge u for the new logbook sounds about right go for it
sab6024 Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 I didn't get a logbook sent through (applied about the same time as the postal strikes) for my Scorpio so I popped down my local office and explained to the little man and he sorted me out. Didn't charge but I didn't know a new one would've cost me £50
