ZetecVan 2.0 Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 So I shall be refitting my alternator after the bracket broke...then... Clearing out my garage so I can get project rotbox on the spit and get the welding finished. I've had the offer of an interesting engine for peanuts which I'm looking at tomorrow....
trispage Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 HMM can't beat days off work to spend tinkering in the garage. Going to have to dream of one of those now....
Twinkle Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 you could order some veg and have a stakeout and catch him
lotusless Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 i've got loads of time but nothing to tinker with
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted March 7, 2008 Author Report Posted March 7, 2008 Phew. I'm having my first break since I got going this morning. The Anglia is now on the spit and I've rolled it onto its side. It really is light. I had to make up new mounts as the spit is for an Escort. I've not been down to the tip yet, but I've got a whole load of shite to take down there. But I won't be doing that today. I've got Amelia to pick up at 3.15 so I've just got time to grab something to eat and tidy away all the stuff that's on the drive. Oh and I fitted the Alternator back onto the van. And when the wife gets back from her little jaunt to the big smoke with work, she's say 'Well you could have tidied up...'
Toby Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 I've had the offer of an interesting engine for peanuts which I'm looking at tomorrow.... That's MAD! Who puts engines in peanuts?

ZetecVan 2.0 Posted March 7, 2008 Author Report Posted March 7, 2008 Here are some pictures. The garage had become a dumping ground. A lot of stuff was in the shed which we've had to clear out so the rabbit can go in there over winter. I managed to make up some brackets for the spit using angle iron Luckily, my calculations for the centre of the car were spot on. I can turn it right the way over! The stuff underneath the car was stuff that was in it when I started turning it over! Now, tomorrow I should have time to actually go to the tip to get rid of a load of stuff.
Toby Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Your garage looks like the sort of thing where you have to throw the last thing in it and shut the door quickly. On the spit subect (No Burns) you could offer a cleaning service for people with cabriolets.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted March 7, 2008 Author Report Posted March 7, 2008 Your garage looks like the sort of thing where you have to throw the last thing in it and shut the door quickly. Something like that. I'm going to be harsh tomorrow. If I've not used it in a while, I don't need it, so it's getting binned.... That's the Anglia gone then On the spit subect (No Burns) you could offer a cleaning service for people with cabriolets. There's an idea...
Toby Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 If I've not used it in a while, I don't need it, so it's getting binned.... You'll regret that!!
Jubfab Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Great Mike - now you've no excuse to get grafting eh ??
