At last i've got to the bottom of a problem which i thought was the dynamo SmileyCentral.comimage.gif After being given another dynamo from a Lotus & fitting it,the amp guage was still registering in the negative when the GT was running  I then took it to an old work collegue & within seconds he diagnosed the problem to the RB340 being burnt out! The problem was me putting the wiring back to standard(ie POSITIVE EARTH)as it had in it's past life been converted to Negative and apparantly the residual current stays in the old loom in this state until YOU POLARISE THE DYNAMO AGAIN SmileyCentral.comimage.gif which i failed to do and shorted the contact in the regulator box.I expect a lot of you are thinking surely you knew that but when you buy everything new the last thing i expected to happen was this(note to oneself must read Haynes manual more closely in future) Thought i'd put this up for anybody else who is having similar probs! New RB340 now fitted so i can go out in the dark now cos the battery is being charged SmileyCentral.comimage.gif
