yeah they have to be spot on else they rattle like fook or just lock up and break...

 

i had mine to bits whe fitting new bearings but didnt have the tools to put it back properly.

 

you also have to have a shim made to compensate for the crush washer when the preload is set

You can change the crownwheel yourself easily enough, its just the pinion thats the problem. Easier to take the axle to someone who knows what they are doing :(
