Rick Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 why has nobody got one of these in their osf yet? rotary power seems to be bonkers bet you get through some manifolds though
Gonzo Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 That's f*ckin' insane! But I've had ideas of building a 4-rotor motor for the Almighty for ages. Although turbos are gonna be a no-no. That much power scares even me. Besides, how quick would you go through tyres, axles, gearboxes, clutches... No. Nice set of carbs for mine methinks.
sporty-corty16v Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 only rotary item i can afford is a washing line
5hane Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 omg ! thats great ! omg, what has he got in there someting to race the jet car at santapod with !

Mr Sam Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 sounds like a jet id still love to stick rotors in the anglia
mk2 stu Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 FOOK ME!!! Thats unbelievable, no way that can last longer than one ru tho, the flames licking up the side of the block would melt everything in the engine bay!
Gonzo Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Spend the money, you can get a rotary to rev over 10,000 and last for a very, VERY long time, even with silly BHP. It's all to do with the rotor seals. And you have GOT to give 'em a good thrashing now and again to clear all the shit out. But yeah, the exhaust manifold didn't look overly secure on that one, did it? Type 4 rotor into youtube and see what you get. Some very nice cars on there.
Guest MK1gaz Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 mental . Should last about 5 mins !!!!!!!!
Durham Fiesta Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 might build me one of those for the xr2
Tom Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 i read that when they first tested the rotary engine they had it at full bore for 100k or something like that with little to no wear, its only when they varied the revs of the engine that it started wearing out the tips
Rick Posted March 20, 2008 Author Report Posted March 20, 2008 thats a vid on yourube of an rx8 drag car and it literally removes the surface of the tarmac... couldnt find the vid thou but im sure one of you will
