davreeve Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Just a quick question on 40s/45s. If you have a set of 45s with say 36mm chokes is there a performance advantage over 40s with 36mm chokes. I only ask as i didnt sleep last night thinking about it lol
BIG G Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 36 is the choke/venturi size only the sizing of the carb is either 40 or 45mm andetermines the amount of air/mixture that can enter the engine.
davreeve Posted March 30, 2008 Author Report Posted March 30, 2008 So a 40 with 36 chokes would be no different to a 45 with 36 chokes?
Fiesta Steve Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Yes 45's will work better with 36mm choke. The larger choke sizes don't work so well in the smaller bodies as you lose the venturi effect Plus you can go larger at a later date if you wish
davreeve Posted March 30, 2008 Author Report Posted March 30, 2008 Thanks for that, can sleep tonite now
