Rick Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 removing glass etchings. all my window glass has different Reg no's on, doesnt bother me too much but it could be messy if a nasty copper spots it. im thinking of making a rectangular template and sandblasting them out. what dya reckon? or shall i just find some apprpriate stickers to cover them
FredTransit Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 I don't think stickers would fool anybody, and could look like you are trying to hide the different numbers. I would sand blast them out if I were you.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 3, 2008 Admin Report Posted April 3, 2008 Mine don't match my reg no either but I found out from doing the history chase with DVLA that they show the original number ... at some point during the car's history an owner switched to private plates and then when he sold the car on and took the plates off then it was given different plates so at least I can prove the car is genuine if a policeman stops me
Rick Posted April 3, 2008 Author Report Posted April 3, 2008 most people would understand that these cars are like triggers broom, but it only takes one power hungry fed onn a bad day to decide you car needs cutting up to prove its ID
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 3, 2008 Admin Report Posted April 3, 2008 Yeah, but it would drive you mad if you worried about every possibility. These cars are 30 years old, chances are the glass has broken at some point & been replaced by glass from a scrappy
