thinking back to paul ashmans topic a few weeks ago about the old anti run on valves...

 

i got one on my escort but its wired up very weirdly!

 

it goes from my oil breather to a T which goes to the carb and to another T which goes to the brake servo and the valve itself.

 

im gonna atke it off and get rid of it but i am a bit worried about this brake servo bit paul says his didnt go there but mine goes into the end of the master cylinder from what i remember.

 

how do i take it off?

are you sure its a breather and not a vacuum?

I think you're refering to the crankcase breather which is indeed connected to the inlet manifold.

That anti-runon divice just breaks the vacuum when you turn the ignition off, if I remember correctly (10 years since I had an Escort!) If you want rid, simply take it off then make sure you have a pipe to your crancase vent and servo from your inlet manifold.

So..... single pipe from manifold, into a tee, then one end of tee to crankcase vent and other end to servo. Sorted

 

Ps. make sure the grommet on the crankcase breather is not rock hard as it won't seal correctly and you'll lose vacuum pressure.
