Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Just got off the blower to Burlen Fuel Systems regarding my twin Stromberg set up on the Anglia. I have ended up ordering pretty much every moving part plus some new needles. These carbs were supposed to have been rebuilt at some stage, but not very well. That little lot Zorro'd up my card to the tune of £115 and a big parcel should arrive here tomorrow morning It turns out my suspisions are correct, the carbs are off a Mk1 Triumph 2000 between 1966 and 1969... old skool cool Now I know most people have the big mis-conception that these carbs are 'shit' and that I should throw them away (to quote a few people ), but I am here to tell these people not to put down others idea's of being different and trying other things... I am stubborn like that. I expect it to go very nicely and have better fuel economy than a Weber (the law in some peoples eyes). Stay tuned

MexDan Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 I am here to tell these people not to put down others idea's of being different and trying other things... I am stubborn like that. Completely agree with you mate... if everyone had the same how boring would OSF become... its all about doing something different... different engines, different paint jobs, different parts, whatever... I can't stand people who say something is shit just because its not what everyone else has got... thats not what having cars like ours is all about!! The fact your trying something different and using 'old skool' parts is superb!! To say you have to have a certain piece of kit and that any other variation is shit is quite frankly bollox... it gets right on my tits!!!
Mick The Mig Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Go for it Jim Bob. Be different not boring.
bmxdave Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 I had Strombergs on the Vitesse and thought they where brilliant. Never had a problem with them at all. Id definately recomend them. If i kept the car i was planning to try to get a triple stromberg setup on the go.
X FLOW EDDY Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 I have all the bits to put a pair of 1 1/2 inch su carbs on my x flow moter, i picked a conversions and tuneing manifold at a autojumble a few years ago for a tenner !!!!!!!!!!
