mk1rob Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Hi. Goin to be getting some bucket seats and harnesses soon. Just wondering wheres the best place to fix the back of the harnesses? Will i need to strengthen the floor at all or will bolting them as it is be ok? What have other people done? pics would be great too. Thanks!
Posse Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 AS supplied by Gary make sure you locate them in the right place.
fatbloke racing Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 You have a choice, either use the orginal rear seat belt mountings or you can get eyes and strengthening plates for harnesses from most suppliers and drill your own holes.....or fit a cage and run them from a bar mounted on the diagonal, now worries then
mk1rob Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 Thats great. thanks for the help. Do you have any pics of yours? Cheers
Rick Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 drill a hole where you want them mounted and fit them with big fat washers front and behind... dont do what i did originally and weld a bolt inside the car, my nan could break that off... bolt always has to go behind the panel
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 as posse said alot of people dont realise the danger it can cause if you dont have the correct angle i was one of those until recently
caprinerd Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 i have a 45 degree angle for mine and still have back seat in place fits, works and looks ok
