Im well up for modding OSF's, but i cant help but think alot of RS's, mex's etc are being wasted by turning them into rediculous spec rally cars? If ur gonna do that use an 1100 or something :? what u guys think?

there all free game imo if its a good shell then cut it up,only thing i wouldnt cut up is a car with history ie x works, press car etc,id return them 2 former glory

I agree there are a lot of them getting destroyed every weekend in forrests all over the world  but unfortunatley a lot of the classes state you must have an original car (or original logbook anyway) not all classes demand this but a lot do so that is what must be done.

I saw a proper rallied up mk2 RS1800 in one of my mags the other day, i jus thought it was a shame. Dont get me wrong, it looked v cool! but it will be very difficult to return that car to standard condition, and theres only so many...

Oh yeah i am not saying don't do it, i'm saying that is why they use gen RS's not 1100's. I'm all for it bring on the RAC

but i do agree some should be left standard or mildly modifyed to remember what they used to look like

that what concourse is for

Its a shame mint examples of cars like the ultimate rs1800 are used for rallying but, those that are left will only become rarer and more looked after. I used a 1300 Gl shell for my mega project, if i'd of had the money to buy an original rs1800 at the start, i would have kept it standard, maybe jus added things like panhard and brake mods. :ykt:

I bought a 1300 with mind to mod it up, if i had a RS/Mex i would keep it standard or atleast modify it in such a way it could be returned to original condtion, i think its a waste cutting them up.

I too reckon it's a shame to cut up a perfectly good one, but if it's a basket case then it's OK.

Even if the arches are gone, then I reckon it's fair enough to whack on some bubbles.

Even the more standard spec cars are dissapearing, as people want to rallify them. Bash had a gorgeous MK1 which he sold before he bought Darren's old Mex. It would have been a shame to have started cutting that one up.

If the standard spec ones all disappear, then we'll forget the old Ford heritage and nostalgia of how the masses used to get about in the days of affordable driving. You know, days of when your parents or grandparents would take you to the beach etc.

In the future when all the standard specs have disappeared, people will only think they were only ever a rally weapon. That can't be good.

After all, it was a shopping trolley that was turned into a rally weapon.
