quickrack Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 Using a Nokia thats okay but more and more phones have really high pixel counts. Due an upgrade and wondering if these are any good or just gimmicks??
Trevmk3 Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 ive got an n95, good phone but the battery life on them is shit so i wouldnt recommend it, if thats any help
louie bagel Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 i agree battery life is poor but the camera is awesome and ideal for osf spotting and easy to upload however dont bother with using the software cos it takes up to much memory, also good as an mp3 player
Trevmk3 Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 yeah briliant camera, and good mp3 im getting myself a couple of spare batteries for when i go to the leeds festival as it seems to last a day and die took these with mine yesterday
Trevmk3 Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 yes mate, theres a normal one which i have, and theres a 8GB one http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n95-1716.php
toad650 Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 I've got the 8GB one n its not got all the software bugs off the normal ones. The battery usually lasts me 2-3 days thats using the net n stuff 2 but with other phones of the same sort of spec like the LG one the battery lives about the same, big screen high spec phones are always gonna be battery eaters. My mates got the LG one n likes it n the camera on that does loads of flash stuff like slow mo n stuff filmed one of the coasters over the winter in slow mo looked really good, but he gets annoyed of the touch screen a bit and when i had a touch screen phone it gets a bit annoying but then they are good in other ways.
louie bagel Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 took these with mine yesterday good looking pics bud
Savvi Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 N95 is ok but big battery life crap. Other Nokia's to look at: 6300 takes good pics and easy to use , just ask my missus !!! 6280 2 meg camera slide phone N73 or the new Nokia classic similar to the blackberry. For full Nokia list have a look here : http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4221002
Admin Vista Posted May 15, 2008 Admin Report Posted May 15, 2008 I had an N73 and now an N95 8GB, I like both though the camera and memory on the N95 are far superior. So much so I don't take my digital camera out at all anymore. They're both straightforward to use (aren't all Nokias?) and the N95 also has a map function that can be used as a sat nav and is very handy with voice command and a good size screen, unfortunately I can't get the software download to work on mine!
Savvi Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 unfortunately I can't get the software download to work on mine! What software are you trying to download ? I'm a Nokia Accredicated engineer and have access to their tech guys ? They have loads of problems with the software on these type of phone which is why i suggested the others. I only use my N95 as a camera and a 6230i as a phone
Admin Vista Posted May 15, 2008 Admin Report Posted May 15, 2008 I tried to download Tetris (I'm a sucker for that game) and it failed 4 times (but I still got charged for each time and had to plead my case for a refund) Also tried to download the full satnav pack for the maps, no joy there either.
Savvi Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 Have you downloaded the latest software for the phone ? You need to use the Nokia Pc suite 1st, then you have an option to upgrade your phone software to the latest version. If your phone is older then 5 months you will have problems with downloads etc.
Admin Vista Posted May 15, 2008 Admin Report Posted May 15, 2008 Phone is only a couple of months old and according to Nokia suite already has the latest software.
Savvi Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 Vista been asked to put this to you ? Did he download it on the Ngage platform or from his service provider ? I've got tetris from the Ngage and it gives me no problems, is the phone the N95 8gig and where did he download it to, ie phone memory or mass memory. http://play.n-gage.com/Home.aspx This is the web page for ngage, download from there and install into a memory card or mass memory if its a n95 8gig otherwise it just slowes the phone down. the website has all the support you need.
Admin Vista Posted May 16, 2008 Admin Report Posted May 16, 2008 8Gb and re memory, FK (fook knows) I just selected the download game option from the demo that came preloaded on the handset, much the same for the Nokia maps that kept failing.
Savvi Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 They suggested downloading this way, you need to use n-guage platform otherwise it won't work. http://play.n-gage.com/Home.aspx This is the web page for ngage, download from there and install into a memory card or mass memory if its a n95 8gig otherwise it just slows the phone down. the website has all the support you need.
