bazpro Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 thought would post some pics of my car. its a 1976 mk2 escort 1.6 ghia. bought it off a old guy not far from me and he kept it in great condition. was on a set of capri lazers when i bought it but have recently fitted some 14 inch weller steelies on 195 45 14 tyres and looks alot nicer i think. only had a little bit surface rust on the bottom of passenger door so tidied that up and put a mexico front spoiler and rs boot spoiler on and thats it for the bodywork hopefully wont need to touch it for a few years as it still in good nick. the car is lowered 1.5 inchs allround it has brand new calipers and discs(brake lines ect) and the front end is polybushed. also the bloke says it has a rs back axel with 9 inch drums and a 3.5 diff have no reason to doubt him but i dont know how u tell the difference between the other axel. its got a standard 1.6 xflow with a piper air filter. going to get a single box exhaust next month and thats as far as iam going with this engine as going to save and drop a zetec in hopefully. it runs mint at the mo but just want morepower. i love the last pic
5hane Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 that looks brill, with the white wellers love the 9th pic too
project_pearl Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 That looks a different car with the wellers and a polish, fair play
Yeomans22 Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 looks great m8, just change the grill and ur sorted,
bazpro Posted May 28, 2008 Author Report Posted May 28, 2008 i know i want a circle lamp grill but they canny expensive now for something that from most angles u dont notice especially with the car being black. keeping a eye on ebay.

antz Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 might go cheaper with a bit of damage?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Escort-mk2-mk-2-g ... dZViewItem car looks good anyway. easy repair ive fixed whole top holders and inserted slats into grills before. You cant tell once it done unless your fussy
mk1mexico Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Car looks great mate, saw it at Scotch corner last time, sits really well on the 14 inch rims
bazpro Posted May 28, 2008 Author Report Posted May 28, 2008 rubs on the back archs a bit 2 up over bumps so might have to get the big hammer out again. theres loads of room in the archs on the front so was going to drop it 2 inchs but when i drop a 2ltr in it might up up 2 low and cant be arsed with rippin exhaust off everytime i pull on drive .
