over_head_cam Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Well i saw gaz this morning at my workplace and he can't believe he got banned because "overhead cam" has got in in for him because he dared to answer him back on "what a street car is". Fookin drama queen is what he called him and it's a case off "it's my toy and i'll say who can play with it " . Gaz approached the mods at the ace cafe when he got suspended the other month and they told him that it was because he told "overhead cam" that all he done on the site is nag and moan at people and contribute nothin to the forum . Ever since then "overhead cam" has had it in for him and was desperate to get rid of Gaz ASAP cos Gaz keep making him look stupid in public with his quick witted replys . This is the truth of the matter and not some deep seated evil that the mods are trying to conjur up . Gaz will be at all the meets as usual and won't be hiding from the oldskoolford forum police LOL Funny dream world out there in gaz land I have a question. Do you only come here when Gaz is banned?

Posse Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 At the end of the day it was a JOINT admin decision. weve had numerous pm's about his attitude since his last ban and he still went on to give his unwanted opinions (and the opinions were always the same). The members who complained said that they were fed up of him slagging off the size of the wheels or the choice of engine and if you dont like something then it is best to not say anything and not slag it off. Some of his posts were very funny and made me laugh but when it was aimed at people and their projects or ideas it became tiring and unnecessary and some people have found that they dont want to voice their ideas in fear of Gaz shooting them down. It is a very difficult job running a site as big as this ... we all do it for free, we provide tickets for shows, arrange stands, arrange meets, do you know that some of us Admin get phone calls in the evenings when we are at home with our families and at week-ends and texts about the site on Xmas Day and we put up with it. There has to be rules on any forum and those rules must be enforced. It is a shit job being admin sometimes and not everyone is going to be happy about the decisions that are being made but for those that were there with us at CF Show last week enjoying themselves and having a laugh then all the hardwork is worth it. Banning Gaz was not a decision that was taken lightly and I agree that Gaz in person is a decent bloke but on here he was scaring off some members with his strong personal views. believe it or not there are other engines other than the pinto! I was very close to pulling the plug on the site about a month or so ago because of all the grief and the amount of money it costs to run it. But for the contributors (thank you all) and the sponsors we have been able to keep this site going and make it so I dont need to dip into my pocket anymore. But you must realise that outside of the forum me and my team and my missus are running around getting merchandise, tickets, post office trips to send stuff out, watching the forum, deleting the spammers, moderating, arranging shows ... the list is endless and we dont get paid to do it, we do it because we believe in Old Skool Ford. I am sure that OSF have helped people on here a lot. How many people have got information to help them out with their project, how many people have had their broken down cars fixed at an event, how many people have benefitted in some way from what the site has to offer? And how many of you would want to find the money to fund the site wholly from their pocket and moderate it for 18 hours a day ... not many I dont think but there are some that are happy to use the site but slag off the "forum police" as someone put it. I dont normally post much about this because the whole thing winds me up but I've had a few and this is from the heart Thank you to all of you who continue to support the site and rest assured we will continue to run it for the benefit of everyone Cheers Darren

Now we live in country of freedom of speech do we not? But not on here or so it seems? Or is it just me? Surley like in most things in this country. Democracy rules. But not if you dont like a bit of banter or have a sence of humour or cant take a joke. . So Ban Gaz you have the power but i think its so childish but hey oh. I wont be replying no more on this thread as its run its course for me but i think its a mistake I will continue to support this site as i find it one of the best and is close to my heart but i believe we should FREE THE SOUTH LONDON 1

PS if gaz is reading this and cant reply v8 s are better than cossie lumps

But My wife Admins on another site and you would not believe the torture it can be runnin a GOOD site Fair play to ye. There'll be when I get over.
