antz Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Mr surfing_turnip face found this about 6 milezs from my house today. Its at a pub in the car park. According to the DVLA its been off the road since 1978 and I asked a pikey guy outside running the merry go round and he said it belongs to the land lady and its for sale. unfortunately the deafeningly loud 50's rock and roll music prevented me from staying inside for more than 5 mins and we couldnt find her. Looking around it the sills are a tad rusty. As are rear arches and a few rust bubbles here and there but Ive seen worse. Interior is just anky and full of cob webs. What you think its worth and shall I go back and ask about it?...I feel cheeky walking into a pub and asking if its for sale
mk1rob Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Theres no harm in askin mate. The worst they can say is no!
Slammed Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 as rob said the worst they can say is no! but in this case oure in luck. but i would say no more the 250 pounds for the 100e

antz Posted June 14, 2008 Author Report Posted June 14, 2008 i wouldnt of said more than £200 for it it dont look too bad...just crusty in places. I reckon itd be prime for a resto....re-spray in battle ship grey on lotus steels with a cage and a 1.3 xflow i am too nervous to go into the pub and ask for the landlady so i can ask about the car when i went in today everyone stared at me like i had a penis on my head
Slammed Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 just be ruthless thats what i do at school have some happy mushrooms before you go in !LOL! that'll boost youre confidence
antz Posted June 14, 2008 Author Report Posted June 14, 2008 took all my courage to ask the pikey by the merry go round if he knew who owned it. I found it hard to order a coke with the music been so loud so had no chance asking for the land lady about the car. Any advice people!???.....I might go back tomorow
Slammed Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 tbh it is rotten as a pear in a recycling bin. but you should still approach it. thats all im gonna say antz. but good luck either way matey

Only thing on my mind is... if i get it i dont know how to move it, i have no where to store it, no money to do it up either....or do i try and get it just for the principle of saving one from the scrapper
Rick Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 get after it mate. if you decide you dont want it ebay it
antz Posted June 14, 2008 Author Report Posted June 14, 2008 Might ring up tomorow....Not holding any hopes up but if you dont try you never know.
Retro-gone. Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 id be very surprised if you get it for one or two hundred quid, nevertheless if you do buy it ive got a mate with a transporter in york, hes coming thro a week on thurs to fetch the 'barn find' to my house, hed prob take yours to ya house for 20 quid.
antz Posted June 14, 2008 Author Report Posted June 14, 2008 i doubt it too but if you dont ask you dont get are you sure your 'barn find' wont fall apart if you move it?
Retro-gone. Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 im absolutely convinced its gonna drop to bits lol
antz Posted June 14, 2008 Author Report Posted June 14, 2008 ha ha ha!!!!!! itll be fine....just dont sit in it or you might go through the floor pan
surfingturnip Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 just call me eagle eye just ring the pub tomorrow and if its cheap we'll go n get it. if u pump that tyre up its not far back to yours and its all downhill. Even if the brakes dont work we could always take an anchor
Nettles Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Go for it Antz there's no harm in asking mate! I don't want to piss on your fire but you can try your luck at £100 you never know you might get lucky, but most of the 100e's are going up in price these days and you could be looking more towards £500. 100e's have always been at the cheaper end of the OSF range but because of the prices of Escorts and the other more popular (no pun intended) models reaching silly prices this is having a knock on effect. Don't be put off but the rust, the 100e's are made from quite a thick metal sheet and are easley repaired. Hope you get lucky and grab yourself a bargain.
Mr.Sumo Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Do it Antz Just walk in there , up to bar , and ask to see the landlady . Then just ask her outright ! Job done . If you don"t ask , the next time you see it it will be on the way to the scrapper....save the old girl
antz Posted June 15, 2008 Author Report Posted June 15, 2008 im not very confident in person so might ring up. the 100e diudnt look too rotten. worst parts seemed to be the rear arches and just behind them...everything else was surface rust.
