Mr.Sumo Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 Went to Uxbridge Auto show today and he was there in the flesh . This man was 1 of , if not , the best motorbike daredevil of our time . He beat the great Evil Knieval by makiing the longest motorbike jump in history i believe...... and there he was , sat in a wheel chair , for want of a better term , fighting the biggest battle of his life , just trying to throw a simple sentence together was a major feat in it self If you ever , as a grown adult , felt like crying , seeing this once great man reduced to sitting in a wheel chair flogging a a few DVD"s of his past triumphs to make a bob or two , today was the day . Good Luck Eddie......
Retro-gone. Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 me and wife were at long marsdon drag strip when he had the accident, it was a grim sight, poor guy.

I was moved i have to say, but at the end of the day if you take chances like that you gota be prappered for the risks involved. we take risks like that every time we hoon down a lane... makes you think eh.

Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 Eddie is da man I used to love watching his motor cycle jumps when I was a lad. Top man!
mk1super Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 Eddie is one of those type of mentalists that made britain what it is today, the pioneers the people that pushed it further faster than any other. And it breaks my heart to see him now it really does But The essence of the man is still there, he still has heart and alot of pride he isnt down the dole like so many others with cap in hand, he is fighting his corner still and bloody fair play to him! And that there is a lesson to us all never give up never quit and dont lose your pride.
