I dont know where it is, but I always checked that out BEFORE the 'More Famous'(?) Capper!

STILL DO, AS ITS ON 'Men & Motors' EACH WEEKEND!

- Always wondered where it had gone. According to the show Biog the writer cast the Escy - but MUST be an X-Pack.

- Unfortunately the producers at London Weekend (remember them?) said that an Escy Mk2 with full arches & stripe kit = FLASH GIT!

- They wanted an EX successful boxer/Inmate/Down on his luck/REAL East Ender Hard-knock (before the pile of Horse Poo on the BBC), with a Dodgy Motor!

- so he gets a Capper Mk2 2.0!!!! Which are now extinct - Virtually!

(Foookin Insult - Cappers were coool even back in the '70's!) BTW: That Capper is owned by John'tinker lol' Hill (of the Capri Club International) & he is letting it rot into the floor after it was fully restored about 4 years ago.

Sad Git Mr Hill - No Life - Get one! !!

The x pack Escort in the opening sequence of minder, di at one time belong to a friend of my brothers in Neath, Glamorgan.   It was actually a Escort Harrier !   It originally belonged to Ford, as one of 3 x pack cars, to use for press etc, to show what could be dought or ordered from Rally sport dealers etc.  I know there was a red RS 2000 that had everything possible done to it tuned engine etc, it was used by Biorn  Walderguard in a marketing video, and most think it was then his car.  The Harrier in the Daley car lot was bought from Ford by an engineer at the Swansea plant. That had a car park that was next to the car park of a large cable factory where  our pal worked and that was how he came to buy the Escort from the Ford employee. I have not seen the pal who owned it for over 20 years, but he owned for a few years in the 1980s.    I used to rally Escorts in the 70s having had,1300gt, mexicos, TwinCams, BDA, BDG etc and used one to win a stage rally championship.     I do believe that Tim, the chap who owned it part exd the Escort for a Jaguar xj6 2 door coupe with a firm in the midlands, and ironically it was one of 2 or 3 coupe's that had bubble arches, wide wheels etc and i think built by Tom Wilkinshaw, Tim had a red one,  the metallic green one being the one that Steed used in the 'Avengers'.   I have seen a plain white x pack escort driving around the Neath area within the past 2 years and wandered myself if it was Tim's old car.
