Hi! Im thinking of lowering my car on the front. Its lowered 2" on the back but standard RS2000 struts on the front. Do people think it needs lowering? The only thing puttin me off is that the lowest part of the exhaust is only about 4" off the ground and the gearbox cross members pretty low too. It already catches on things. Is that normal?

Also, if i was to lower it, what springs do ppl recomend i use? Its not going to be used for track use but i dont want it to be like a boat either! Thanks in advance.

Mine is exactly the same and im thinking of lowering it as well, springs depend on what engine you got too i think, btw that is one gorgeously clean escort

my dads escort had 1inch of space when he bought it and it scraped like a bastard coming up the motorway...but that was a combination of capri struts, saggy rear shocks and leafs AND lowereing blocks.

new shocks, no lowering blocks, and having the exhaust refitted brought it all much higher and he has probably about 4 inches now and its fine!

its only on the country roads we have up here that are very hilly it bottoms out....(i can bottom out my volvo 240 though so thats not very good  )

if i were you id go for 1 inch at the front and see what you think.
