Retro-gone. Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 is it a complete air filter system? id like to fit \ k&n but im worried about if theres enough room between the k&n and the bonnet.
Retro-gone. Posted August 1, 2008 Author Report Posted August 1, 2008 bollox i did it again http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WEBER-AIR-FILTER- ... .m20.l1116
bomber1 Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 that is not a complete system you will still need an air box and tubeing to suit. tho the up side is u can have the air in take in front of the radiator so you will allways have cold air to the carb. down side is u will have to find room for the air box. that is designed for engines close to the bonnet so it would fit imo
caprinerd Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 just run an open carb alot easier . i run a pipe up to the carb, which is open, from low down on the front in front of the rad
vibrating_Cake Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 as just stated, open carb with a tube coming from a cold air source to the carb itsself. you only really need plenums when you have twin carbs so you dont have to run 4 cold air feeds rather than just the one. wont make much difference for the cost!
Gonzo Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 I doubt you'll have any problems fitting a regular square/pancake filter to the carb. After all, they usually have a mahoosive black airbox bolted to the top of em, which has gotta be a fair bit taller than a K&N. Have a browse on Google [or ask on here for pics of engine bays] and see what people have got.
Lardy Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 i have a 38 dgas the three litre carb on my pinto which has a k&n filter and it does foul the bonnet i have a three litre prefacelift bonnet ifthis helps your decision
Retro-gone. Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 bugger , seems the K&N's have clearance on the mk2&3's but not MK1's.
