zetecmk2 Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 just been out to get baccie, throttle cable snapped!! just replaced that! normal weekend for you then glen that's what snapped on l2b mate as well i rekion you got share's in second hand throttle cables how dare you!! last time, the outer melted. this time, the inner snapped!!! use halfords rear brake cables. get 2 throttle cables out of it! oh, and i keep a stuby 17mm in the car!!

mk1super Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 Sat-Sun here goes- new starter motor, new altinator new points, condensor,dizzy cap,and arm, leads, plugs and arm fresh oil and filter oh and top up of water, windscreen wash and spring on the top of the 40s repaired. Still to do...............? Everything else, new springs and shocks needed back and front brakes, fit pinto, box, prop and lsd and paint then fit new window rubbers carpet new headlining and find some better seats as the ones in at mo are uncomfy ( I got a spring up me chuff on sunday made my eyes water! ) so lookin at roll tops or any half decent supportive sporty recaro!
vibrating_Cake Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 i just finished fitting my engine and bias pedal box today, just waiting for my cousin to come help bleed em!!! i also broke the clutch free!!!! waaaay saved myself some money there! ermm... then tomorrow either TOWING the car or driving it over to powerslow to get my new exhaust... then im gonna give it a good ol THRASH
zetecmk2 Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 well, this morning on the way to work, my alt tensioner nut snapped causing my alternator to rub through my oil filter!! first i knew about it was 0 psi as i went round a roundabout, foot on the clutch and rolled into a lay-by. phoned my mate who turned up with an oil filter and some oil! seemed to have caught it in time as still good oil pressure and no horrible noises my throttle cable is not at fault in any way though, cheers lee!!!
sporty-corty16v Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 had no intention of doing anything, but ended up spending 2 days on car, refitted exhaust wired alternator and fan and fuel pump, then made a dashboard, now working on a mates swapping his auto to manual........so much for two weeks off

crapichris Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 Still trying to finish the 2.0S. Got some celluose paint in Nimbus grey but it looks darker than the original. Don't get me wrong - it looks better colour than the original - I love it. As I am spraying the whole car it doesn't matter too much. Yesterday sprayed 1 litre of topcoat onto the front valance, front wings, and bonnet. Needs more paint today so waiting for the rain to p*ss off.
