I have just scored a Mark 1 Pre Facelift Capri which has a 2.0 Pinto installed.:mrgreen:

The exhaust is complete joke and I need a replacement to bolt onto the 4-1 manifold which is decent.

Obviously the standard exhaust is out, but was thinking that the system from a face lift post 74 Capri will fit??????

Any ideas where I can get another - I do not want my ears to fall off everytime I drive it, but would not mind something that will fit in with any engines Mods later on....... :ykt:

Cheers

Yo Dean, get some pipe and I will bring my welder round :wink::wink:

Oh yeah, PM me some pics too :D

I have just scored some pics and they will be up asap :ykt:

I have seen a Janspeed S/S for OHC for the Mk 2 for £300 or mild steel for £220, both painful !

The system thats on there at the moment has been built buy a complete tool and is banging and clonking on everything!

Right for the interested parties I have made some head way.

Just got the catalogue for the Capri Club and they are doing a 2 inch system in there, mild steel for the OHC for £105.00 plus postage....just need to check it fits Mark 1.

The other draw back is I have to join for £30, so this could get expensive, but looks like the best option so far.

you may have a minor problem with clearance underneath. The xflow capri has an arch cut out of the centre x member on the left side for the x flow engine. If you have a pinto engine the exhaust exits on the right hand side. The right hand side of the cross member ain't got a cut out for the exhaust to go past so you have to bend it a bit to get it under the existing channel (if this is making sense??). When you do get it to fit you have to watch your ground clearance. Got the t shirt, video, book, etc!!! I regularly knock it on sleeping policeman and then spend 1/2 hour underneath re-adjusting it. Suppose you could cut a new arch out on the r/h side of the x member???
