72mk1escort Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Been trying to get a bonnet release cable for my MK1 Escort today i tried everywhere then last of all i though mmmmm speedshack and i have heard them mentioned a lot on here so i called them up. What a great bloke he is ordering me in a release cable from their supplier who makes the cable all for £9.95 and £3.50 to post what a bargain He asked where i had herd about them i said oldskool ford and he said to say thanks to you guys for all of the recommendations
FredTransit Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Nice one. Wonder if they do one for the transit?
72mk1escort Posted August 27, 2008 Author Report Posted August 27, 2008 Nice one. Wonder if they do one for the transit? Well he said the company they use makes them up to spec so i guess they could get one give them and ring and have a chat i am sure they can help you out
FredTransit Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I might do that, you can't get one for the Mk2 transit and the handles snap off. I think I have the last NOS one left in captivity.
72mk1escort Posted August 27, 2008 Author Report Posted August 27, 2008 I would mate he said somthing about them making them to order so well worth a go
Savvi Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 They had some Mk2 escort vans doors advertised a while back so thought i'd ring them ....................... doors had been sold, but the guy i spoke to was really nice asking about my van and offered me some side panels when i said about the love hearts side windows, certainly made me welcome and would certainly ring them again if i wanted parts. It's strange cos i read somewhere they were not very good, but compared to someone else who advertises on here that i spoke to previously, they were excellent.
72mk1escort Posted August 28, 2008 Author Report Posted August 28, 2008 will definitely try them first in future
petrolhead Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Steve at speedshack is Top Notch and has been going far longer than most. They are often busy but if you go down to their shop and get a moment they will talk OSF's all day long.
DAZZA Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 I went about a year ago, Steve had us kept there with a cuppa and a biccie for over an hour making sure he'd got all the necessary parts and answering all my modification questions. I'll expect the same service when I get some money together and pop down to WPE.
bomber1 Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Shame he didn't call me back if u have been to the shop and see how busy they are im sure it was un intentional always helpfull either on the phone or in person
Trevmk3 Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 ive had good dealings with them, seem very clued up on the bits you need aswell
