cjpcarpentry Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 alright guys started the strip down tonight ready for the new paint and all is good how ever i took of the three nuts off that hold the rear light in place but was wondering how to remove the wireing do i need to strip the unit as the retaining screw is rusted through thanks chris
ratman Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 there is bullet conecters on the rear wireing then after you have removed the 3 nuts and star washers it should come off but mind the sealing gromett(between the lamp unit and the body) may be stuck (mine was ) but dont worry if it rips the Mk1 owners club sells then cheep

cjpcarpentry Posted August 28, 2008 Author Report Posted August 28, 2008 thanks when i slid the black rubbers off the wireing go`s to a brass bullet is that what you say to pull apart as it go`s into the back of the light and there are no more bullets and yes my rubbers are broke to so thanks for the link!!

lead foot Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 the conections are a few inches into the loom on both sides of the car, my pre-air flow is the same as the air-flow i had , they join in the same place
