thats what im worried about, the paint cracking or dulling on my bonnet, i had her resprayed 4 months ago .

for the sake of 40quid for a big roll of this stuff from carbuilder solutions (or elsewhere, although cbs is brilliant as ive ordered many times from there and everytime it comes the NEXT DAY!!)

you may aswel, your car is mint on the outside, i wouldnt risk it, a new exhaust mani will cost~30-70quid whereas your bonnet+blending could be anything upto 10times that.

and it looks cool :D

whats camcoating?

It's a ceramic chrome coating applied inside and out and rust proofs as well as heat proofs the manifold. It comes out looking very nice but it is quite pricey. Here's mine

It's more expensive than you think, that price page hasn't been updated since 2002. I think my 3 piece pinto manifold was around £220 when I had it done 18 months or so ago.

I've got the front part of the exhaust on my scoob wrapped as it keeps the exhaust gasses hotter and the under bonnet temps down, hotter gasses flow quicker and cooler air going into the engine gives more power. Same can be applied to NA engines, best to keep it cooler under the bonnet. Also why induction kits with forced cold air work better.

Soak the wrap in water to make it easier to bend, fit to the manifold and secure with stainless steel ties/wire, bake it in the oven (while the wife is out!) at a low temp to dry it out and set the wrap, then give it a few light coats of high temp paint to keep the moisture out. I've got it on a cast section (the headers) and the up and down pipe and no problems with cracking.
