Daggle Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Just been informed that my old car is for sale on Lenham Sports Cars website. Hope this link works, http://lenhamsportscars.com/sales.php Scroll down and you will see Hoobs. It looks like the only thing he has done is replace the rocker cover and the brake master cylinder and then mark the price up by a few grand It is in wicked condition, however not sure if its worth £8375
lotusless Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 these dealers annoy me did you sell it to them or did it go to someone else first ??
Daggle Posted September 22, 2008 Author Report Posted September 22, 2008 yeah i sold it to him, for a lot less then what he is selling it for, he also gave me a load of old twaddle about how he had been looking for one for ages, he was going to keep it and use it all the time, jsut seems like it was another bit of kit for him to sell on
Mrs O/H/C Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 aahh, thats not nice when you see your previous car up 4 sale
trissybabes Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 aahh, thats not nice when you see your previous car up 4 sale That's why I get all mine crushed. No, no, no - just kidding. I just sell them to people who smack then up and then sell 'em for peanuts.* Or have them crushed. *Not that I'm bitter about my poor old 2.0 Laser being bought by a couple (for £1,500!) who generally wrecked it, had a blow out, smashed the front end in, and then recently flogged it on Fleabay for £260... Before (in March 2006 - de-striped and black front end trim fitted): and after I'd put her back to standard when I sold her in June 2006: After (August 2008): and to think I was panicking about a few bits of rust that were appearing on the front wings...
hotrodholty Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 these dealers annoy me did you sell it to themor did it go to someone else first ?? it may seem there taking the piss, but a dealership has got overheads, wages and expenses that a private seller does'nt have to worry about. plus when you buy a car from a dealer you want some kind of warranty or garantee which a private seller does'nt have to bother with. the dealer has to allow enough proffit to cover this incase something does go tits up on the car he has just sold. and at the end of the day so long as you got what you wanted for it , what does it matter what the person who bought it then sell's it on for. just because he's got it out for £8k does'nt mean he'll get it
rob-loves-osf Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 yep it sure is sad and even depressing at times to see an old pride and joy up for sale (thats what makes you buy em back!!) lol that silver capri - thatsmy current desktop image! rob
