Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 how hard is it to make my own ajustable cam pulley as i have a spare original cam pulley so ive not lost anything if it goes wrong im sure someone on here has made one recently though
emu Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Take out the woodruff key. Make sure you use plenty of loctite on the bolt thread and that you do it up properly. The key should only be a locating aid, the bolt provides the clamping force. But if it does slip then its not my fault

Noted and understood I got told that it was ok to run without the key years ago and always just assumed that the person who told me was right I was an impressionable teenager at the time so it quite amazing I was even listening enough to take in the mis-information at all glad I didnt have the bottle to try it though and splashed out on an adjustable pulley instead. Anyway, ignore my above post now please
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 ive changed my mind im gonna splash out and buy a proper one too

emu Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Take out the woodruff key, and mig weld the pulley on Are you sure! Hey, I sliced the end off my camshaft with an angle grinder to get my pulley to fit, So welding it on seems quite a sensible thing to do to me
