PAUL MANN Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 i have put some twin 40 dellortoes on & im having trouble with it getting to idle, tonight ive took 2 of the plugs out and they are wet (both on the same carb) so took the other 2 plugs out and they are dry,my qusetion is do you think it could be the leads as the elec dizzy is new coil is new plugs are new ive taken the plug leads in question off when running no change, but when ive taken the other leads off (the dry ones)there is a noticeable change
wild pete Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 are the leads long enough to swop them round see if fault goes to other cyls . but it sounds to me like its putting too much fuel in , check float heights
razersedge Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 it could be a couple of things the carb is overfueling causing the plug not to spark because it is wet or it could be some thing electrical (very slim chance of this) but try sticking a dry plug in the leads that arn't fireing and rest it on something metal and if it sparks ok then it's the carb overfueling
PAUL MANN Posted September 26, 2008 Author Report Posted September 26, 2008 i will try and swap leads around,i have put another plug in the end of the lead and it does spark,so most probably over fueling then
jayson2.3pinto Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 put new set plugs in then balance the carbs ,wet plugs will not fire properly then go from there m8 sometimes extra fuel from the carbs and worn valves or guide rubbers can foul the plug
Fiesta Steve Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I'd say the carbs are out of balance and need setting up
