Try motor factors before ebay

Can't believe what people will pay for stuff on ebay which they can still source from there local motor factors, mine has supplied all i need for my MK1 esc, including 2 rear cylinders (with retaining spring clips) and 2 track rod ends for less than £20 with no postage costs. Try your local first!

The guy at my local garage said the same. People automatically think items are hard to find because they're for an old car. Our local factors is great and you can get almost anything

Exactly, and if they're out like mine they get a bit of pleasure routing stuff out for you, and testing their memories of numbers, quite amazed when the guy quoted the track rod end number off the top of his head.

i saw a bidding war on a set of m16 on fleebay while ago...went up to £80 odd quid....you can buy them new form the shop for £40

i always check motor factors but sometimes ebay stuff is actually cheaper. capri discs are 15quid cheaper on ebay.

i have had some MAJOR bargins on ebay.

 

e.g. my spax rear ajustable shocks, next to new i got for 15-20quid .... 88quid a pair for GAZ ones (next cheapest ones) on rallydesign!!

 

but for stuff like track rod ends bearings etc, bearings are 48quid on ebay, 15quid at local factors .

 

and trivial stuff like cambelts etc, burton power are something rediculous, but motor factors are like a 5er 10er (for pinto that is =))

There's no denying there are still bargains to be had on ebay but a little homework first with your local m/f especially with stuff that has a buy now only price and you could save yourselves a few quid. (don't forget to take those postage costs into account)
