oldbus Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Not only do we have an old bus over here, i´m in the process of restoring a 1978 MKIII Capri... I´ve got all the welding out of the way.... and had planned that a mate of mine would paint it for me this winter. Unfortunately he´s had to give up his company and i´ve just decided that there´s no way i´m realistically going to get it done properly myself. Is there anyone here who could give the Capri a once over with a spray gun? in return i´d be more than happy to do a load of welding to even things up a bit. I´m in the fortunate position of running a company car and I own an old transporter trailer so popping over and swapping projects wouldn´t be a problem at all. Anyone fancy a swap? You spray, I weld Cheers, Dave
Mr.Sumo Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 What a great idea mate What a bummer bout your mates garage , pity i can"t spray to " show " standard

Rick Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 you seem good at everything you do. why not learn to paint
oldbus Posted October 23, 2008 Author Report Posted October 23, 2008 you seem good at everything you do. why not learn to paint Thanks mate, ...but i´ll stick to my welding and faffing around. I get pissed off just thinking about having to go into the garage to get the prep done...much rather waste my time with an angle grinder in my mits!
toad650 Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 OMG thats great work!! now if i was only better with my spray guns!!! unfortunatly my spraying is like my welding, it sticks but isn't always good looking Good luck with the project though
lotusless Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 can pop over from germany!!! i love it you nutter
oldbus Posted October 23, 2008 Author Report Posted October 23, 2008 Nightmares racing german division soon to be opened! Looks like i´m going to get my honorary Nightmares Racing membership after all. Mark and I have done a deal that will keep us both happy, so i´m going to be the proud owner of a properly painted Capri sometime this year and the Cortina Estate is coming over here for a few weeks...... ;D Thanks again to everyone who offered their support.
over_head_cam Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Well done m8 Though I'm sure if you put your talents to waving a spray gun it would be a good job

oldbus Posted October 26, 2008 Author Report Posted October 26, 2008 Cheers lads, i´m really chuffed. This was always going to be on a (non existant) tight budget and i´d sort of got used to the idea that it was going to have an iffy paintjob, ....not now though!!!
