Touching the bottom pulley wont affect the timing coz the x-flow got a fixed timing chain, sounds like a wires come off somewhere if it was ok before, just check all wires around the dizzy and coil, (it has got fuel hasnt it?? )

I done this have you taken the distributer cap off as you may have some water in there from where you changed the waterpump as water goes everywhere when you pull the bottom hose off

Probably just moisture in the cap

are you getting spark at the points, is the rotor arm clean, are the coil leads on firmly, is there power in the coil ,is there power out the coil, it could be a number of things just check through the old skool way. condenser might have gone up the swanny buy a new set of points and a condenser make sure the dizzy cap and the rotor arm are in good condition, are you getting petrol through, with out working on it for you its hard to put a finger on what it could be
