nicky4i Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 there is a shop in west drayton called speedshack and he is closing the shop down and moving to a converted shed in the back of the shop due to the rising cost of rent, this is very un-fortunat as the shop has been there for longet than many of us have been driving. but there is some good news out of this for us... as he will be limited with space he will be selling as much of the bigger stuff he has very cheap.. ie wheels, body parts, exhausts and much more. most things have a price on them but steve (the owner) has put a note up saying make an offer for the parts you want. giv them a bell or pop down there and he and morgan will sort you out. i just got some wings and other bits n bobs for under 40quid.. his number is 01895449066 he asked me to let all of you that dont know so go get the bits u been wanting cheerz chaps
DEP Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 I heard about the shop shutting a few weeks ago, Its very sad indeed, Steve is a real nice guy, and very helpful, I d like to wish him all the best for the future
Johnson Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 such a shame, but it has been a long time coming. i really feel for steve as he has poured his life into it., and hard times and internet/ebay has really killed his business. also think the credit crunch will be the final nail in the coffin whats been said i wish him all the best for the future and cheers for all the help he has given me over the years. Top bloke
nicky4i Posted November 19, 2008 Author Report Posted November 19, 2008 i know, i have posted this on a few other sites too. the good thing is that he will still be running it from the shed in the back so he will still be glad to help any1 that needs anything, it is literally going to be speedSHACK now. lol
Grey Crayford Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Very sad to hear that the shop is closing, hope things work out for Steve. Will give him a call to see if he's got any more parts in that I need.
trevb Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 God i love that shop, i always try them first when i need parts, even if they dont have it, i always end up having a good chat with them. Very sad day!!!!
DAZZA Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Cant name many shops that will sit you down with a cuppa and spend up to 2 hours on recommending parts that he didnt actually sell! Top man , great shame.
lotusless Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 sad news for the shop, proper old skool helpfull bloke steve
JAY PS Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Met Steve a few years ago and its a great Ford shop But times change hope steve can change with them and survive the hard times Good luck
Johnson Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 spoke to steve and morgan the other day, and it apears that the shop has now gone, however steve will carry on trading from a converted unit at the bottom of the yard, and they still have the yard for stock. unfortunately it will be more mail order stuff, however steve should still be about to help source the parts we all need. Lets just hope, he like everyone else can ride the financial storm thats brewing.
TomB Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 I have nothing to say apart from nice things about Steve and the whole speed shack team, Best of luck to you guys
