stevepeanut Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 after going to Doncaster Yamaha dealer at the back end of December I noticed Yamaha were doing 0% finance on nearly all the bikes in their range. Never had a new bike in my life, always second hand abused ones. So been pondering since mid December, and finally emailed my local dealer yesterday saying "If you can match J&S in Doncasters price, I'll buy a new bike from you". got an email back from a guy in my local yamaha dealer asking me to ring him. Called him tonight, and he tells me as of 12th of January, Yamaha cancelled the 0% deal,so its not available in any dealer anymore. I'f I'd been 3 days earlier I would have had one
Trevmk3 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 i know that stratstone at clay cross (formerly powersports) are doing ZX10 and ZX6 with 0%
stevepeanut Posted January 15, 2009 Author Report Posted January 15, 2009 quite a few kawasakis on 0%, really like the Z1000 but thats one of the few not on the deal
FredTransit Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Sod that, do they want to sell or not? I would tell them you are serious, but will go elsewhere even for a finance deal with interest. That might focus them!

That might focus them! Of course they want to sell, the 0% finance would be a promotion put on by Yamaha uk not the dealer. To do a 0% finance deal costs the dealer more than the profit on a new bike and if they sell at a loss what is the King point in selling? Sorry if this seems a bit of a rant but i work in the motorcycle trade and believe me it's hard work at the moment. If you are interested in the new bike go and see the dealer in person you will get a better deal, unlikely you will get the 0%finance but you will hopefully be suprised at what you do get.
FredTransit Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Well it's a hard time for all of us, if the bike sits in the showroom it's 0 profit too

lee 1 Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Mate i work for a Honda dealer (service not sales) and allthough slightly biased i would say the cb1300 is a fantastic bike.No 0% deals at the moment but try Cusworths at doncaster and if you get no joy pm me and i will have a word with our sales manager see what kind of deal we could do. Like i said before go and see them in person nine times out of ten you will get a better deal face to face
