Christoph2.8i Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Anyone know how much a MK1 Orion Ghia on a B reg with one owner and 30,000 odd thousand miles from new would go for? Not exactly an 'old skool ford' i know, but any advice would be appreciated Cheers Chris

Copey Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 dont know why it says 'Onion'? I didnt think I was that pissed! or another swear filter play? orion EDIT: yep, its the swear filter
Savvi Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 I dont know how much it might be worth, but i'm going tomorrow to look at a 1988 escort convertible with rs bodykit on it. The guys looking for £300 Taxed and Tested til Aug 2009 with power hood alloys etc etc had full bare metal re spray 4 years ago and the previous owner worked for Prodrive , sounds nice. he's just retiring and bought a new car, says this one is too good to scrap !!! I would think the O R I O N would be worth about the same ?
Chris! Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 Ive just sold this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=019
Retro-gone. Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 ive always liked orions, we had one as a family car when kids were little, it was a 1600 ghia, im just not keen on the CVH engines, mine ran like a bag o shit when i got it so a local guy took the injection system off and fitted a twin weber, ran lovely then.
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 I had a mark 1 and 2 Orion for a while. At the time of owning the Mk1, they weren't worth alot, so that ended up going to the scrapyard. The Mk2 though was a lovely car, knew it for years, drove it for years and it had the quietest and smoothest CVH you ever heard (that was the engine I was thinking about fitting in the Anglia). I had to let my Mk2 go without MoT or Tax, but it still sold for £200. Mk1's though are becoming quite sort after and if it's a really nice one, I don't see any reason why it wont make at least £800
NginEEr Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 sold 2 mk1's in the past few month both 1600 ghias in good condition one did £750 other did £820
Christoph2.8i Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 Thanks for the advice guys! NginEEr, £820 thats quite a decent price, this one is pretty much in mint condition with 1 owner and 37,000 miles so if I sell, hopefully I would get this or maybe more. Cheers Chris
FredTransit Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 I might well be looking for 1990s cars at the end of the year, so keep in touch if you get them, Christoph2.8i and Savvi
